ITA ON TOUR lands in Sydney the capital of New South Wales and one of Australia’s largest cities, is best known for the Sydney Opera House, a structure with a characteristic sail shape that stands near the harbor. The huge Darling Harbor and the smaller Circular Quay, which are located near the Harbor Bridge and the prestigious Royal Botanic Gardens, are very lively ports, while the Skywalk, the Sydney Tower’s terrace, offers a 360-degree view of the city and on the periphery

All masterclasses will be held by important teachers:

– Ballet Masterclass: Ms Julia Elle Regi – Previously a highly successful dancer with the Finnish National Ballet in Helsinki and ENB in London, Les Montecarlo and Nancy Ballet, now ballet teacher and guest artist.

– Ballet Masterclass: Ms Vicki Attard – Former Principal Artiste at the Australian Ballet Company.

– Contemporary Masterclass: Mr Jayden Hicks – multidisciplinary artist, creator and educator.

Ballet Masterclasses - Julia Elle Regi - Ballet Teacher and Guest Artist

Previously a highly successful dancer, Julia moved to Australia from New York City ,where she was working as a freelance principal dancer, sharing Joyce theatre stage with artist from NYC and ABT.

Before that, Julia was dancing corps de ballet , soloist roles/principal roles with the Finnish National Ballet in Helsinki and ENB in London , Les Montecarlo and Nancy Ballet.

Born and raised in Sweden, Julia started her training with Royal Swedish Ballet School in Russian method as well as French and English technique.

As a teenager she did acting in Astrid Lindgren’s theatre performances such as Brothers lion-heart. She also performed in Musicals such as Kiss me Kate, My fair Lady and Sweet Charity at Malmö City Theatre while dancing with the Malmö Baletten led by x NYc principal dancer Jonas Kåge and Deborah Dobson. At the age of 15, she was offered a scholarship with Hamburg Ballet School where she studied and had the opportunity to work with John Neumeir.

She then returned to Sweden to complete her training with the Royal Swedish Ballet pre professional level  had the opportunity to learn August Bournonville technique and floor barre technique with teachers from USA ,NYC ballet and ABT.

During her career she worked with some of the most prominent and renowned choreographers in the world including Sylvie Guillem, Natalia Makarova, Patrice Bart, John Neumeier, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Jorma Uotinen, Pierre Lacotte ,Per Jonsson  Naharin and many others. Julia was also very privileged to be working privately with mr David Howard and Mr Willy Burman as well as Mr Bart from Paris Opéra. They helped her allot when was performing principal roles at Finish National Ballet. Mr Bart specifically coached her for blue bird in Sleeping beauty.

Julia first experience with a professional overseas company was with Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier ,Jene Ballet de France in Paris then Ballet de Lorraine in Nancy France and the Royal Swedish Ballet Company before accepting a place with Finnish National Ballet Company. She was soon promoted to Soloist roles (despite being only 20 years of age). While with the Finnish National Ballet, she performed soloist roles in Nureyev’s The Nutcracker/ DonQ / Sleeping Beauty Cranko’s Romeo , and Juliet, Makarova’s La Bayadere, Beigmeister’s Swan Lake, Jorma Uotinen Firebird ,Sylvie Guillem’s Giselle and William Forsythe’s Second Detail etc

She then joined the English National Ballet Company performing in ballets including the Nutcracker and Cinderella  and had opportunities to perform as Junior Soloist .

Upon leaving the English National Ballet, Julia decide to extend herself to other styles of dance. Further developing herself as an artist, she worked at the famous French Cabaret Lido de Paris , before returning to classical ballet and freelance as classical ballet guest Artist in New York , she has also been invited as guest principal artist to Hungary ,Sweden ,Japan, USA ,Brazil and among other places .

In 2010 she  settled in Australia and began her teaching and coaching career and international adjudicator.

2012 international classical ballet academy and adult ballet academy   was established in partnership with Damian Hannan where she has had a role as Artistic Director working and teaching young students given many of them the chance to become professional ballet dancers around the world . Worked with Mr Willy Burman lots of times in New York when she visited YAGP .Since September 2022 she is now recognised as freelance ballet teacher and private coach internationally and cross Australia in Classical Ballet (Vaganova) RAD as well as Danish and French technique.

Ballet Masterclasses - Vicki Attard - Ballet Teacher and Guest Artist

Vicki Attard comes from Mackay, Queensland, where she studied ballet with Dawn Armstrong and Betty Meskell before her acceptance into The Australian Ballet School.

In 1985 she joined The Australian Ballet and was promoted to Coryphee in 1987, Soloiste in 1991, Senior Artiste in 1992 and Principal Artiste in 1993. She joined Sydney Dance Company for its 1989 season and rejoined The Australian Ballet in 1990.

Vicki performed all principal roles and many and varied leading roles during her 15 year career with the Australian Ballet. Vicki created the role of Cio Cio San in the world premiere of Stanton Welch’s Madame Butterfly in 1995, the same year she won the James & Diana Ramsay Scholarship which enabled her to study in Copenhagen, London and Netherlands.

Highlights of Vicki’s career included dancing Kitri on the opening night of the Washington season, the title role of Manon in Tokyo and the opening and all subsequent performances of Cio Cio San in Madame Butterfly for the New York season. Other major Australian Ballet tours included London, Greece, Italy, China and Russia.

Vicki retired at the end of 1999, and immediately undertook and received a Graduate Diploma in Dance Instruction. Vicki began teaching Australia-wide in 2000/2001, and was awarded the coveted Green Room Award for Best Female Performer.

Vicki was also involved in the Dancers Company Tours for 2000/2001, in the role of Ballet Mistress. The Dancers Company is formed utilising the graduating year of students at The Australian Ballet School, and performs as the touring arm of The Australian Ballet.

Early 2001 saw Vicki assisting Stanton Welch in re-staging Madame Butterfly with The National Ballet of Canada for the ballet’s North American debut, and subsequent American seasons with Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet and Houston Ballet in 2002. Later in 2003 Vicki oversaw the final staging of Madame Butterfly for the Royal New Zealand Ballet, and once again re-staged Madame Butterfly for The Australian Ballet in 2011.

Vicki has produced her own unique pointe program, entitled ‘My Pointe’, and subsequently released the dvd/cd for commercial sale in 2010. In 2012 ’My Beginner Pointe’ was released, which is an all-encompassing program specifically designed for young dancers and dance teachers alike, covering the safe dance practices and aesthetic components involved in the instruction of pointe work.

In 2016 Vicki was appointed Interim Director of the Houston Ballet Academy by Houston Ballet Artistic Director, Mr. Stanton Welch AM where she oversaw 1,000+ pre-professional students as well as the second company HBII for 2 and a half years.

Vicki continues to teach at many institutions within Australia and abroad.

Contemporary Masterclasses - Jayden Hicks is a multidisciplinary artist, creator and educator based in Melbourne, Australia.

His performance credits include Opera Australia, Melbourne Ballet Company, Vertical Shadows and Collaboration the Project. In 2013, Jayden was nominated for a Green Room Award and Victorian Dance Award as Best Male Dancer for his performance in “Yours Truly”.

Jayden became a primary staff member of Transit Dance in 2015, beginning his time as a principal artist of Transit Dance Company (2015 – 2021) and featured in productions BOYZ, Small Parameters, ID and Fuze. In 2022, Jayden was announced as the Associate Director of Transit Dance.

Jayden was Artistic Director of popular youth company, Origins Dance Company (2016 – 2020) as well as the Producer of Dance Architect, UNDRGRND Melbourne and Australian Dance Award nominated Transit Regional Creative Project.

In addition to his performer and mentor roles, Jayden possesses a well rounded creative vision. He has served as Production Manager for Transit Dance since 2017 and executed Lighting Design for countless works created within their performance based course.

Recently, Jayden assumed the role of Rehearsal Director for Project Animo’s premiere season, And Now We Move On, collaborating closely with esteemed artists Cass Mortimer Eipper and Alice Topp. In 2023, he served as the Creative Assistant for The Australian Ballet’s 60th Anniversary Season, Identity, working alongside the talented Alice Topp. Moreover, Jayden showcased his choreographic prowess with “Opus” a contemporary dance work that undertook a successful Victorian Regional tour.
